Editorial calendar template and Social media content calendar (FREE)

There are two important types of content calendars that a social media manager will almost always make use of. The first is the editorial calendar, which will gather all your content projects into one document to help you plan and schedule each release.

The easiest way to organize a content calendar is by using a separate tab for each month within Google Sheets or an Excel Spreadsheet for each month. Activities can be broken down by day or hour, depending on the volume and cadence of your content plan.

Get your FREE starter template. The following is a very basic template of an editorial calendar. You should add columns or rows as required.

Your editorial calendar should include simple information about each of these projects:

  • Title or description of the content
  • Links to supporting documents, like content briefs
  • Author or writer
  • Deadline
  • Channels you plan to promote it on

The second valuable content calendar is a social media content calendar. This should include all of the social media messaging you’ll use to promote your content, organized by date and time. Social media engagement can’t be planned in advance, but social media promotion can be, which is where this calendar comes in handy.

4 Type of Ads to consider when creating Reddit Ads!

I wanted to share a quick blog on the type of ads to consider when thinking of how to utilize Reddit for your brand. The biggest challenge is that Reddit does not have a way to A/B test your campaigns. This mean, you have to create unique ads and measure each of them independently. This can also be best practice when you are thinking about your ad types in other platforms. I personally use these templates to help in my planning and also gives me a structure to focus on my offers.

Questions to ask yourself:

  1. Questions Ad Copy
  2. Longform Ad Copy
  3. Loss-Aversion Ad copy
  4. Highly Specific Ad Copy

Let’s now break them down with an example. Let’s say I am looking to run adds to promote my company, and my service is to help get new leads for other agencies. I would write the following per question.

  1. Questions Ad Copy
    • Want higher quality clients fro your mobile app agency?
  2. Longform Ad Copy
    • I’ve found most digital agencies focus so much on growing clients that they forget about their own marketing, so I came up with a solution. A+D is basically an outsourced CMO focused on growing leads for  digital agencies. Interested?
  3. Loss-Aversion Ad copy
    • Only 8 spots left – we work wit some of the top digital agencies in the world to grow their leads. Will you be left behind?
  4. Highly Specific Ad Copy
    • Agencies that are active on Dribble typically see 10-14 qualified leads per month from that channel. Find out how we can help grow your Dribble account.

As you can see from above, each of the questions help to look at my offer in a slightly different way. You can use this to figure out your copy needs.

Hope this help in your planning.

“The important thing for us is that all the growth has been organic,” says Koum. “We’ve never done any kind of growth hacking or anything like that.
